This privacy policy explains what personal data Sri Vishnu's Blog (https://srivishp.in) collects, why it is collected, and how it is used. This site is a personal blog with no advertising, no tracking cookies, and no data sold to third parties.

1. Newsletter Subscriptions

If you choose to subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored in a private AWS DynamoDB database. This is the only personal information collected.

Why it is collected: solely to send you new post notifications via email.

How it is used:

  • A confirmation email is sent when you subscribe — your address is not activated until you confirm.
  • Notification emails are sent when a new post is published.
  • Your address is never shared with, sold to, or processed by any third party.

Unsubscribing: Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. Clicking it immediately deactivates your subscription. You can also email srivishp@gmail.com to request deletion of your record.

2. Analytics

This site uses GoatCounter for basic visit counting. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not collect IP addresses, and does not store any personally identifiable information. No consent banner is required.

What is recorded per page view: the URL visited, referrer, browser, and country (derived from IP — the IP itself is not stored).

You can opt out of GoatCounter tracking by enabling the Do Not Track header in your browser, which GoatCounter respects.

3. Hosting Infrastructure

This site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) — specifically S3 and CloudFront. AWS may log standard HTTP access data (IP addresses, request paths, timestamps) as part of normal infrastructure operation. This data is governed by the AWS Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies

This site does not set any first-party cookies. No consent banner is shown because no tracking or advertising cookies are used.

5. Your Rights

If you are an EU resident, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data (your email address if you subscribed). To exercise any of these rights, email srivishp@gmail.com.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated. Since there is no user accounts system, no direct notification will be sent.
